Swans
oil on canvas · 10/25/2003 · 12"x16" · $80
The backround is a last-of-the-last-of-the-last paint of the day, with some green, blue, and white added into the mix (because I wasn't thinking, mostly). That happens towards the end of a painting session. The sketched lines are a memory of the palace of fine arts (swan, curving chainlink fence, sidewalk), and a trip to the botanical garden (lilly pads). As you can see, my memory does interesting things. Especially trying to blend the lilly pads with, I'm guessing, this.
