They moved above their means to the suburbs, thinking rich folks would mean better friends to raise their kids with, away from trailer-trash pot and crack-house methamphetamines. Refinement simply brought more expensive tastes, though. Their daughters couldn't afford heroin and cocaine at the rate their friends partook. Not with cash, anyway.
