A rather successful representation of a photo I took in a friend's backyard. The backyard photo was incredibly dark, somewhat ominous, with lots of purples and yellows, hints of orange; as you can see, those didn't really make it to the painting. I figured dark/omninous would be harder to pull off well, so I'd go with a "day" scene. Many of the details in this piece are invented. That's okay.
