It's here somewhere--I remember.

No, she told me about that. I was there, I think. I don't remember it at all.

Oh, but I remember--

No, that was a photograph. I don't think I ever remembered that. How long do childhood memories last, anyway?

They come back, though, right?

When the adult memories start to strip away, you get back to the bare basic beginnings.

Then I'll remember.

I buried a box around here, somewhere, thirty years ago. If it's still here--if it's still here in thirty years, perhaps I'll remember where I put it.

And why it was so important to remember--

to remember what was inside.
